Greetings from Arizona! I hope that you are doing well and enjoying your work with individuals with neurogenic communication disorders as much as I am. I say that knowing full well that there are many disturbing problems in health care right now. In my setting, however, we continue to do research relevant to aphasia treatment, and we are quite enthusiastic about the success of many of our patients. We need to continue to advocate on their behalf and to inform our legislators, so that we will have the opportunities to provide adequate professional service to those with communication disorders. I encourage you all to take advantage of the guidance for advocacy offered by ASHA through the Leader and the ASHA Web site: www.asha.org.
