Welcome to 2010's second issue of Perspectives in Neurophysiology and Neurogenic Speech and Language Disorders. We extend our appreciation to our former Division 2 Steering Committee member, Edy Strand, for coordinating this excellent edition devoted to the topic of motor-based progressive disorders. We are grateful to contributing authors Tepanta Fossett, Darlene Graner, Audra McAllen, Janelle Sanchez, Kristie Spencer, Edy Strand, and Phillip Weir for their cutting-edge contributions to our continuing education.
One of the goals of the Clinical Issues Committee has been to increase representation on the committee of clinicians with a pediatric specialty. The committee was pleased to add Glenn Paustian of the Research Institute of Chicago to its roster to address this need. Pediatric neurologic issues also were identified as a needed area of focus in the dissemination of information to clinicians. The committee is happy to report that there will an issue of Perspectives devoted to pediatrics early next year (edited by Glenn). Another strategy for improving communication about clinical information to members of Division 2 will include the use of e-mail blasts when new documents are posted on the ASHA website.
