I have the distinct pleasure of taking over the “command” of Perspectives, as my predecessor so nautically put it in the December issue of the newsletter. I’d like to thank the Steering Committee for giving me this opportunity, as the newsletter has informed and inspired me for many years. Stacie Raymer noted, in her farewell column last issue, that the newsletter is “often cited as a model to follow among the divisions.” This is a reflection not only of the high quality of the contributions, but of the fact that the newsletter offers something for everyone: clinical resources, current research findings, a vehicle for continuing education, and inspiration for advocacy. The Steering Committee also continues to seek innovative ways in which to best serve the division affiliates, as exemplified by our plan to produce a joint issue with Division 1 for June 2002. I look forward to being part of this exciting process.
