Welcome to the first issue of the 2011 Perspectives on Neurophysiology and Neurogenic Speech and Language Disorders. On behalf of the Coordinating Committee, I would like to welcome new and continuing affiliates and thank you for supporting the efforts of your leadership team. We look forward to your input and your feedback regarding your affiliate experience.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the ASHA's Special Interest program. Our group, Neurophysiology and Neurogenic Speech and Language Disorders, was the second group created, and, as such, we have an especially long history. Throughout this year, in the Coordinator's Column, I plan to highlight many of the past accomplishments of our group.
