Calling all Special Interest Division 2 affiliates! The time has come to make our voices heard! As professionals with special interest in Neurophysiology and Neurogenic Speech and Language Disorders, we know all too well how important it is for our legislators to appreciate our services. We have experienced the negative effects of ignorance and careless policymaking first hand and, more importantly, the devastating effects this can have on those who depend on our services. While we have won some small victories recently, we can’t afford to rest on our laurels. There is much work to be done, and we need to press on now more than ever. As you know, this year’s ASHA Convention is in our nation’s capitol. "Capitalizing" on this golden opportunity, ASHA has organized a rally for the Wednesday before Convention. I hope that those of you who will be attending Convention next month might be able to come a day early and join in this event. It is our hope that you will not only attend the rally, but also be willing to seize this opportunity to meet with your senators and representatives and their staff to advocate for our clients and our profession.
